Vegetation Master Plan – City of Vincennes

As part of the Urban Greening Strategy for the City of Vincennes, Wagon Landscaping supports the municipality in the implementation of an ambitious programme for the greening of public spaces. Conceived as a concrete response to climate-related challenges, this strategy seeks to address the necessary evolution of urban vegetation in all its dimensions.
The approach simultaneously engages multiple, interconnected issues: adapting plant palettes to climate change, strengthening the green network, requalifying public spaces to better serve everyday uses, giving greater space to living soils and vegetation, rethinking urban water management, evolving maintenance practices, and reinforcing urban biodiversity. Vegetation is considered as a form of urban infrastructure, capable of improving thermal comfort, supporting ecological continuities and shaping durable and hospitable public spaces.
Working in close collaboration with the city’s technical departments, which oversee the implementation of works, Wagon designed and supported the redevelopment of several streets, small squares and public gardens. This close partnership ensures that the principles of the greening strategy are translated into concrete, operational and replicable projects.
Among the flagship interventions, garden streets have emerged as a strong urban figure, both legible and adaptable. By prioritising open ground, reducing asphalt surfaces and showcasing generous, locally adapted vegetation, they embody a new way of inhabiting the street—calmer, more fertile and better suited to future climatic conditions.
