François Vadepied, landscape architect, is co-founder of Wagon Landscaping. He originally trained in geophysics and cartography at the IGN. He then pursued doctoral studies in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In 2003, he made a radical shift in his professional path and passed the entrance exam for the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage in Versailles, graduating as a DPLG landscape architect in 2007. Since 2018, he has served as State Landscape Consultant for the French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle. He teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage in Versailles and at ESAJ.
He is jointly responsible for the agency’s development and project direction. His particular interests lie in landscape projects that address the quality of the spaces produced, the dynamics of living systems in all their forms within designed environments, and frugality in implementation.
Mathieu Gontier, landscape architect, is co-founder of Wagon Landscaping. He originally trained in fine arts and Russian language. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage in Versailles, graduating as a DPLG landscape architect in 2007. From his initial training in art, he retains the use of drawing as a tool for thinking and design. He spent one year as head of landscape projects at ADPi, the engineering branch of Aéroports de Paris. He teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage Versailles-Marseille, where he is director of studies for the Marseille campus. At Wagon Landscaping, he oversees the agency’s development and project direction for the Paris office and the South of France.
Estelle Ollivier (b. 1983) is a DPLG architect and landscape architect. She studied architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris Val de Seine, graduating in 2007. She then spent a year in Bamako, carrying out an architectural heritage survey in collaboration with the Malian Ministry of Culture and working on the design of an orphanage. From 2008 to 2010, she worked for Aéroports de Paris Ingénierie on the design of airport platforms. In 2011, she began training as a landscape architect at the École Nationale Supérieure de Paysage in Versailles and started collaborating with Wagon Landscapi
Constance Criqui began her training in 2014 with a year in urban planning at the Université de Montréal, before joining ENSAP Lille the following year to pursue studies in landscape architecture. She obtained her State Diploma in Landscape Architecture, equivalent to a master’s degree, in 2021. Born in the Paris region, she quickly developed a strong interest in contemporary urban and landscape issues, with a research thesis on the relationship between trees and health in hospital settings, and a final-year project on the future of the cruise port of Venice.
Nathan Mercier, landscape architect, began his training in 2019 at ENSAP Lille before pursuing a State Diploma in Landscape Architecture, equivalent to a master’s degree, at ENSAP Bordeaux, graduating in 2024. He has developed an approach to landscape design that is attentive to context, uses, and the living dynamics of all kinds that shape our territories. His final-year project focused on the rehabilitation of a former spinning mill in Mulhouse and the diverse plant dynamics emerging there.me.
Léa Nourdin, spatial designer, trained at ENSAAMA and holds a transdisciplinary master’s degree in design. After dedicating her final-year diploma project to questions relating to landscape and ecological awareness, she joined the Wagon Landscaping team in 2022. She now develops landscape studies and public-space design projects, with a particular affinity for drawing.
